Tier 02 · Expand

Bring on new Workday agents and modules.

New capabilities are unlocking new outcomes. Workday's agent ecosystem is growing fast - the question isn't whether to deploy them, but which ones, in what order, and with what governance.

01
Align to business priorities, not the roadmap

We start with the outcomes that matter to the business - not with a list of available agents. The deployment sequence follows value, not availability.

02
Register in ASOR before deployment

Every agent - first-party or custom - is registered in the Agent System of Record. Identity, permissions, and audit trail are established before the agent touches a single data record.

03
Test in sandbox, measure in production

Signing the UMSA unlocks sandbox access and the platform consumption console. We use it. Agents go into production with a defined measurement plan and clear success criteria.

You only pay for what agents actually do

Workday prices AI through Flex Credits - a usage-based model where credits are consumed when agents perform work. It's not a per-seat model. It's consumption-based, which changes how you think about ROI.

Baseline credits - included with your subscription. Enough to get started with native AI and early agents.

Bulk credits - purchased in advance at volume pricing. Kainos can help you model the right credit level for your agent deployment plan.

UMSA unlock - signing the Universal Main Subscription Agreement gives you the consumption console and sandbox environments. Required before you can monitor usage properly.

Active monitoring required - there are currently no automatic alerts when credits run low. Plan for this operationally.

Automation
Process automation rate

Proportion of eligible process steps handled end-to-end by agents without human intervention.

Exceptions
Exception handling reduction

Reduction in cases escalated to humans - a proxy for agent confidence and data quality.

Decision speed
Manager decision speed

Time from information available to decision made. Agents that surface the right thing at the right time compress this dramatically.
